arrange a visit. You’ll have
the opportunity to sit in on
classes and speak with
students and faculty.
- Send
us proof of education to the
Masters level or higher, or
evidence that you will have
completed a Masters level
program within two years of
acceptance into the PSP
program.
- Complete a PSP
Application form and send it
to us along with a
non-refundable Application
fee in the amount of $50.00.
- Arrange to have copies of
your official transcripts
sent to us.
- That’s all you
need to do. Once we receive
all of the above items, we
will contact you to arrange
an interview. Accepted
applicants may begin classes
in the Fall, Winter or
Spring terms.
ONCE ACCEPTED, YOU WILL
BENEFIT FROM...
- A stimulating series of
30 courses with a practical
"how-to" orientation.
Courses include Transference
and Resistance Workshop,
Modern Psychoanalytic
Treatment Technique, Human
Maturation and Development,
Object Relations Theory,
Self Psychology and
Contemporary Trends in
Psychoanalysis
- Informal,
seminar-style classes. The
opportunity to see patients
in our clinical facilty, The
Philadelphia Consultation
Center, with professional
and peer consultation and
supervision. A 200-hour
practicum includes 60 hours
of group supervision
- 500
hours of clinical practice
experience.
- 150 hours of
Modern Psychoanalytic
supervision with a certified
Psychoanalyst.
- Attendance at
and participation in ongoing
faculty and student case
presentations. This includes
attendance at 23 case
presentations, and
presentation of 7 cases.
- Presentation of a final case
shared with faculty and
students.
- A
clinically-oriented final
research paper.
- 300 hours of
individual training
psychoanalysis.
UPON COMPLETION OF THIS
PROGRAM, YOU WILL...
- Have earned the right to
practice with the title of
Psychoanalyst.
- Have the
opportunity to be registered
as a certified Psychoanalyst
with the National
Association for the
Advancement of
Psychoanalysis (NAAP).
- Be
well-qualified to pursue
state licensing as a
Psychoanalyst where
applicable (e.g. New York, Vermont,
New Jersey).
- Be a graduate
of an institute accredited
by The American Board for
Accreditation in
Psychoanalysis (ABAP), an
affiliate of the Association
for Specialized and
Professional Accreditors
(ASPA).
