Stephen Day Ellis,
M.S.W., B.C.D., Ph.D.,
NCPsy.A.
Dr. Ellis is a Certified
Psychoanalyst in private
practice in Center City,
Philadelphia and is the
President and Executive
Director of the Philadelphia
School of Psychoanalysis. He
received his Master of
Social Work from the Smith
College School for Social
Work and further training at
the Boston Family Institute
and the Eastern Institute
for Transactional Analysis
and Gestalt in Philadelphia.
In addition to completing
his studies in
Psychoanalysis at PSP, he
has trained with Dr. Hyman
Spotnitz, the founder of
Modern Psychoanalysis and
with Dr. Gerald Lucas at the
Institute for Modern
Psychoanalysis in Manhattan.
Dr. Ellis has served as a
faculty member and Training
and Supervising Analyst for
IMP and has also taught in
the training programs of the
Pennsylvania Society for
Clinical Social Work and the
Philadelphia Area Group
Psychotherapy Society.
Wallace Fletcher,
D.Min.
Dr. Fletcher is a Certified Psychoanalyst at the
Philadelphia School of
Psychoanalysis and Executive
Director of the Dialogue
Center for Counseling and
Consulting in Plymouth
Meeting, Pennsylvania. He is
a graduate of Sterling
College, Princeton
Theological Seminary, Union
Seminary in Virginia and
Lutheran Theological
Seminary in Philadelphia. He
teaches Masters level
courses in Group Dynamics,
Organizational Dynamics and
Pastoral Counseling at
Neumann College in Aston,
Pennsylvania. He is an
ordained Presbyterian
clergyman and a Fellow in
the American Association of
Pastoral Counselors. Dr.
Fletcher has a special
interest in the dialogue
between psychoanalysis and
religion. He recently
completed an article on
"Group and Group Dynamics"
for the second volume of The
Encyclopedia of Christianity
as well as a monograph
entitled Biblical
Perspectives on Human and
Group Relations in the
Church. Dr. Fletcher is a
regular contributor on
psychological themes for
Lectionary Homiletics, an
ecumenical journal on
Biblical interpretation.
Joyce W. Grigson,
Ph.D., NCPsy.A.
Dr. Grigson was certified
by the Philadelphia School
of Psychoanalysis. She is a
Training and Supervising
Analyst and is Chair of the
Psychoanalytic Studies
Committee. She serves on the
faculty of PSP and the Union
Institute and is developing
a program designed to serve
fragile families in the
community. In the past, Dr.
Grigson developed and was
the supervisor of a day
hospital. While there, she
worked with and supervised
others in the treatment of
people who were seriously
and persistently mentally
ill. She was the Director of
Education at Haverford State
Hospital and she published
articles on the addiction
process and contract
development with patients.
Dr. Grigson has a private
practice in Downingtown.
William Grey, Psy. D., NCPsy.A.
Dr. William Grey is a certified psychoanalyst and psychologist in private
practice in Center City. He is the Chair of Continuing Education at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. Dr.Grey received his psychoanalytic training at both
PSP and at the Institute for Modern Psychoanalysis in New York City
with Drs. Gerald and Marie Lucas. He earned his doctorate in clinical
psychology at Chestnut Hill College, and his master's degree in
education from Temple University. He has taught at several colleges
and universities in the Delaware Valley, and has presented at several
national conferences. He is a board member of the National
Association of Psychoanalysis, and a member of the American
Psychological Association. As a yoga and meditation practitioner, he
is an advocate for stress reduction techniques used in conjunction
with therapy.
